At Criterion Industries, we take pride in listening to our customers and providing exactly what they want and need. So when an architect asked us “How slim can you design an aluminium-framed glass window and door system?” we promptly decided to find out.
We went away and looked into the glazing code, then met with the engineer who chairs the Australian Standards Board for Glazing and asked him the same question. After much thorough workshopping, and seeking further advice, we finally designed a system that would meet the architect’s request and also meet the Australian AS1288 Glazing Code for glass up to 12.8mm thick. We named this new system Svelte to reflect its ultra-slim elegance.

Create infinite design solutions
With a universal glazing pocket, the Svelte Partition System features offset and double-glazing aluminium frames which can be continued to create infinite design solutions. With a tiny 15mm reveal on the vertical and 20mm reveal on the horizontal, Svelte embodies slender elegance and is the slimmest partition system available. Svelte will visually blend with the foundations of any design to physically divide without visually separating interior spaces, creating a seamlessly expansive space.
What’s more, the Svelte System has been acoustically tested in laboratory conditions and found to achieve the ultimate in acoustic results, with the double glazed partition achieving an RW48 acoustic rating with 12.5mm glass.

As with all products from Criterion, the Svelte System is also easy to specify, order and install, saving time and money on a range of fit-outs from commercial and residential to hospitality and retail.
The Svelte System includes both floor-mounted and top hung sliding tracks for sliding doors as well as hinged doors and is stocked in natural anodised aluminium or a wide range of powder-coated colours. Despite its lean, lithe lines that give a look of delicacy, Svelte is also built for strength and durability.
