Located in a prime CBD building on St Georges Terrace in Perth, the Iluka Resources office design was reflective of its commitment to leadership and sustainability. Enlisting the talents of Geyer Architects, the new offices of the global mineral sands company had to meet some key performance requirements as well as aesthetic specifications.
Acoustic performance was an important consideration in the design and product selection of the office fitout. Criterion’s products were best suited to the needs of the office, given that they produced the best results when tested onsite. Creating seamless separators for privacy was vital to the project.
The sleek and modern office fitout referenced a distinct industrial theme with exposed pipes, partnered with natural wood panels, adding warmth to the space. Criterion’s IBeam and Timber Doors successfully contributed to this aesthetic and were the perfect products to enhance the interior design. The IBeam was specified in Black Ace, as were the Aurora doors. The unique, horizontal door handles added a minimalistic flair.
One particular feature that made IBeam even more ideal was that cross bars allowed it to be installed at heights suitable to the design - offering flexibility and versatility.
The final result of the Iluka Resources offices demonstrates that sophistication and rawness can be successfully combined, and that form goes hand in hand with function when the ideal products meet the design requirements.
